FISHTRAP lighting

by Esteban Anaya Designs

Pre-order

Origin: Dayak tribe, Borneo

This handmade rattan fish trap was traditionally used for baiting and trapping fish in a stream and as a spear to skewer fish while jumping in the water after their prey.

Our fish traps are made by a father and his son in a remote region in Central Borneo.  Made of two types of rare heavy rattans grown in jungles and mangroves in Borneo.

Working exclusively with Esteban Anaya designs we have adapted this beautiful piece into a unique lighting design.  The globe represents the fish trapped within the cage, light representing the nourishing life the fish gives to the hunter, their family and the village.

The fitting is made with adjustable height to fit into any desired space, using power efficient LED's.
